Hello Kitty Fanatic On Tyra Banks

Reminder – it’s today

Time to mark your TV calendar and set your recording devices. I received an email from another poor soul that lives in Hello Kitty Hell letting me know that he and his girlfriend will be on the Tyra Banks show this Thursday, September 20th to talk about his girlfriend’s Hello Kitty fanaticism. I’m not sure if it is a comfort or an extremely distressing revelation that there is another Hello Kitty fanatic out there that is so obsessed that she warrants time on the mid-day talk shows. Even scarier is that fact that no matter how bad she is, my wife is likely infinitely worse.

If that portion of the show becomes available, let me know and I will post it here so everyone can cringe in horror at what life with a Hello Kitty fanatic is like…

  3. OMG! For the second time this week, HK has made my eyes bleed!

Look girls, cute is not a geometric series. If anything, it’s a decay curve.

  4. I dunno what’s considered worse…the HK decor everywhere or the bf’s comic book collection room. I mean, collect comics if you want, but hanging them all over the walls?? 😛

  6. i mean no disrespect to you or your wife.
but i have to say what is on my mind.

    your wife loves hello kitty.
nothing wrong with this at all.
    i do as well.
but i’d say at a max i have about 6 small hello kitty items.

    my boyfriend also hates HK.
and out of respect for him, i don’t decorate our apartment with her, just as out of respect for me he doesn’t decorate it in things that i dislike.

  7. i don’t understand girls obsession with HK. they love it, but why the hell do they?! What the Hell does it do for them?! It doesn’t do anything but look stupid in a corner and come with a price tag…although, realistically i rather my girl have a HK obsession than a Chanel or Coach, or some stupid other *name* brand obsession, those stupid HK toys are much cheaper than any of the grown up women collectors items.

so, trying to find a bright spot in my own hello kitty hell, i’ll let it be as long as it keeps her away from the more expensive stuff.

what’s with the idiotic girls coming on here to talk about their collections, nobody gives a %@$& about it, are your minds seriously that fried by this stuff that you don’t realize when people don’t want to hear about your stuff?

  8. I can understand people collecting stuff, and buying *some* functional collectables to use if they’re not paying a significant premium, but buying loads of collectables just to use them? The only collectables I’ve bought and unpacked have been “blind boxed” items, and even then I bought them with the intent of displaying them, and possibly repainting them more realistically.

  9. Ok, so I saw the show when it aired and honestly she wasn’t as bad as I thought. The fan is a 25yrs old who has decided to decorate her room as though she was 8yrs old. I am a huge HK fan who is 30yrs old and married, but at least I buy items that are meant for adult fans. Besides, the girl on Tyra has a boyfriend who is 25yrs old too, and he also a comic book fan, and his only gripe is that he wanted a neutral bathroom. I don’t think that was too much to ask, especially since they are NOT living together. I think they are meant for eachother and so no one should feel sorry for him. As far as my obsession goes, I keep my collection for the most part in my kitchen. That way, my husband has a reason not to cook because he can’t do so in a HK kitchen, and I get to decorate it to my heart’s content. I also have little notepads, pens and such, but the rest of my home is pretty HK free. To each his own.
