I would MUCH rather be subjected to this "lantern festival" of which you speak, than the ghastly drive-through holiday light shows we have here.

If it weren’t for the hello kitty aspect, they would be really pretty lanterns. What makes me shake my head is how something lovely can instantly be turned into kitsch by HK.

K, I believe that must be (Dear) Daniel – HK’s male friend.
I admit I went to the Sanrio site to remind me and found the approaching Kitty who greets you on opening disturbing – the off the shoulder top and boots…

There’s prob more on these lantern festivals on the site linked to – seems lantern festivals/carnivals are a regular occurrence.

egads, just seen a ceramic diamond watch on there – $2900!
