I don’t think that guys understand the appeal of canopies over beds in the first place, but that lack of understanding compounds immeasurably when the canopy features the evil feline on it. Let’s hope that my wife fails to find one of these because I can think of nothing more disheartening than waking up in the middle of the night covered in a Hello Kitty net from which there seems to be no escape — kind of like the Hello Kitty Hell I now live in…

Hello Kitty Shower

My wife absolutely loves this Hello Kitty shower and would like to have one just like it to go along with the Hello Kitty house made of Hello Kitty bricks with Hello Kitty plants in front surrounded by the Hello Kitty picket fence with Hello Kitty display cases and Hello Kitty stained glass windows inside.

I have a slightly different view. I believe a shower is a place that you get clean, but how can any self respecting man take a shower in something like that and not feel dirty afterwards? Just one more thing to worry about in Hello Kitty Hell…

Hello Kitty Bathroom Mirror

It’s bad enough waking up each morning and seeing Hello Kitty right in front of my face, but now my wife wants to multiply this pain by getting Hello Kitty bathroom mirrors. While she thinks that these are cute, they are simply another heart attack waiting to happen for me. On those nights that I need to go to the bathroom, I’ll get out of bed still half asleep, switch on the light to the bathroom and slowly open my eyes to have a Hello Kitty mirror staring back at me. I wonder how much my wife will like it when there is a Hello Kitty scream of terror to wake her up every night…

Hello Kitty Digital Scale

We already have a Hello Kitty scale, but that doesn’t stop my wife from wanting other ones that she comes across. I find the whole idea rather ironic since the last thing that my wife wants to know from the evil feline is what she weighs. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Hello Kitty digital scale actually malfunctions on purpose so that it gives the wrong weight (to keep the Hello Kitty fanatics happy), or maybe it gives the weight in apples (if you know why this reference is significant, you know too much about Hello Kitty) so that it is impossible to tell. No matter what the truth is, it’s just another piece of Hello Kitty junk to add onto the pile in Hello Kitty Hell…

Hello Kitty Head Mount

Let me make it perfectly clear that I have no desire to ever have any type of Hello Kitty plush in my life. If, however, I was forced to pick one that I had to have, the Hello Kitty head mount would definitely give the Hello Kitty tarred plush a run for her money.

It’s not often that my wife immediately has a negative reaction to something that involves the evil feline, so when she does, I have a pretty good idea that I’m not going to think it’s quite as horrific as most of the Hello Kitty crap I see. “Why would someone want to shoot Hello Kitty? That’s cruel!”

I briefly considered asking my wife which Hello Kitty gun she thought the hunter used, but decided that not sleeping on the couch in the Hello Kitty sleeping bag would be a nice change of pace for once…

Hello Kitty Stained Glass Window

Any normal person would figure that after my wife had decided on the Hello Kitty house made of Hello Kitty bricks with Hello Kitty plants in front surrounded by the Hello Kitty picket fence and Hello Kitty display cases to keep all her Hello Kitty junk that my wife’s dream house had pretty much reached the point where it could no longer be Hello Kittified. Of course, normal never applies when living in Hello Kitty Hell and the Hello Kitty stained glass window proves this point:

My wife thinks that Hello Kitty stained glass windows would add the perfect compliment to her Hello Kitty dream house. I, on the other hand, believe that this in nothing more than a hideously devised plan by the evil feline to smother all hope in Hello Kitty Hell.

One of the few escapes I have living in a Hello Kitty Hell house is the windows. Although my wife would like to hello Kittify our entire town, this is one goal that is currently out of her reach. That means that I can look out the window and remember that there are places in the world that exist without the evil feline.

The addition of Hello Kitty stained glass windows would mean that instead of seeing possible freedom, I will be looking always be looking at my nemesis. While this would make my wife happy, it would ensure that there is no hope of escape from the depths of Hello Kitty Hell…

Hello Kitty Wall Display

One would assume that being able to buy virtually anything with the evil feline’s face on it would be enough for Hello Kitty fanatics, but that is never the case. You also need to build a custom Hello Kitty head display case into your wall in which to display all the junk that you have collected. My wife likes this idea far too much for me not to be worried that one day we will see something like this in our house…

I received the following question in my email the other day:

What are the worst Hello Kitty products out there?

“Everything?” would be my immediate response. That being said, many of the things that I personally find horrifying never seemed to raise much of a ruckus among the readers here and the Hello Kitty fanatics — well, let’s not even go there. I guess my life has become so Hello Kittified that I have a hard time distinguishing between Hello Kitty bad, Hello Kitty worse and Hello Kitty worst. So here’s a challenge/question – what are the top three worst Hello Kitty items I have listed on this blog (yes, I know there are a number of items even worse that I have not listed, but I try to keep this blog semi family safe) and why do you think so?

I’m hoping that some of you will be able to put together a rational explanation that I can give to my wife to show her that some of this crap is downright crazy — all while not getting me sent to the couch in the Hello Kitty sleeping bag for the rest of the month. Yeah, I know. It isn’t going to work, but I have found that deluding myself that there is hope of one day escaping from Hello Kitty Hell makes the Hello Kitty toast and coffee go down easier in the morning…

For most people that want a home, the dream is to have a little house with a white picket fence. The Hello Kitty fanatic, on the other hand, has a dream (and a nightmare to their partners) of a Hello Kitty house with pink Hello Kitty picket fence.

Combine that with Hello Kitty shrubs, and the house made out of Hello Kitty bricks and you pretty much have put together what most people would consider the scariest house imaginable. The fact that the thought of this house brings giggles and a dreamy smile to my wife’s face leaves no doubt that Hello Kitty Hell will only get worse…

Hello Kitty Steampunk

In her never ending quest to be a part of absolutely everything that exists, Hello Kitty has decided to morph into steampunk form:

This shouldn’t really come as a surprise. Steampunk used to celebrate functional mechanical cleverness, but over time has turned into some sort of costume game which is all about decoration. There is no doubt that the evil feline is all about uselessly decorating her face on everything, so the eventual combination of the two should have been predictable. Still, the Hello Kittification of anything is never a step in the right direction.

Of course, my wife thinks that it’s wonderful. Her response was to dreamily declare that “artwork always is that much better when Hello Kitty is included” and thinks that what our house now really needs is a Hello Kitty artwork collection. That declaration by her was definitely one more step down the path to the farthest depths of Hello Kitty Hell…
