While getting a Hello Kitty Rockband guitar for any Hello Kitty fanatic should be considered a serious lapse in judgement worthy of excluding you from the human race, it goes far beyond your own torment. That is because as soon as my wife saw it (and I can pretty much assume the same has/will occur with any other Hello Kitty fanatic out there who sees it), I received the Hello Kitty fanatic “this is going to be an extraordinary Hello Kitty hellish day” question: “Why don’t you ever get things like that for me?”

While you may assume that the gift you get your Hello Kitty fanatic partner only effects your little world, it has a rippling effect to every other person suffering in the depths of Hello Kitty Hell. By getting something like this, every other Hello Kitty fanatic feels that they are also entitled to something equally as horrendous. They will then use the example of you getting that Hello Kitty crap for your Hello Kitty fanatic as a reason that they also deserve equally terrifying Hello Kitty crap themselves.

So the next time you feel pressured to get your significant other something covered with the evil feline, don’t just think about yourself. Think about all the other poor souls (or specifically me) that will end up suffering far more as they will likely end up on the couch in the Hello Kitty sleeping bag for not being as Hello Kitty appreciative as you are pretending to be.

My wife took one look at this and thought it was the greatest thing ever (The fact that not every Hello Kitty item can be “the greatest thing ever” seems to be one of those impossibilities that Hello Kitty fanatics conveniently ignore), and thinks it would make a wonderful addition to her collection. I think that when you take three wrongs (Lady Gaga + Barbie + Hello Kitty) and combine them together, they not only don’t make a right, but you have basically set in motion the conditions for the human race to give up all hope. That’s certainly the point in Hello Kitty Hell I reached when I saw it…

This news is quite depressing to me because I have been thinking of getting a Razor for short distance transportation around Japan. My wife knows this and hasn’t been all that enthusiastic about it (“it’s something that only kids use”) when I mentioned it the past, but she has abruptly changed her mind (imagine that…) with the news that Razor will be making Hello Kitty models in the coming months. In fact, she has gone so far to suggest that we could share one or even get a matching pair which would make a wonderful gift for each of us (I can already tell that this Christmas is not going to be good).

I’m pretty damn sure that a 6′ 3″ foreigner riding around on a Hello Kitty razor in Japan would quickly land me in jail as a thief of young girl’s toys. When I tried to explain that the Hello Kitty razor was actually mine, they would undoubtedly extend my stay in the cell for being mentally unstable if they could not designate it as some other type of illegal activity. All I know is that no matter what eventually happens, it’s not going to be good and will likely increase the heat in Hello Kitty Hell…

Update: Apparently a push Hello Kitty Razor wasn’t enough and the people at Sanrio deemed against all logic and humanity that the world also needed an electric Hello Kitty Razor scooter as well (and it will only put you back $150).

My wife just absolutely adores this collaborative figure from Dr. Romanelli and Medicom and that Hello Kitty has such cute internal organs. I made the mistake of trying to explain the obvious that Hello Kitty really doesn’t have internal organs which elicited a stern warning look that I should not carry on any further. My suggestion that maybe we should start cutting open different Hello Kitty lying around the house (hey, if we have a Hello kitty knife, why not put it to good use?) to see if their internal organs matched this figure didn’t go over too well either as probably should have been expected.

Although I pushed the limit, I did manage to stop before I was sent to the couch to sleep in the Hello Kitty sleeping bag. Sometimes, despite the overwhelming urge not to, even I manage to stop while still ahead in Hello Kitty Hell…
